The Dangers of the Drinking Age
Writing in Forbes magazine, Jeffrey Miron and Elina Telelbaum presented the results of their study. In 1984, Congress passed the Federal Underage Drinking Act (FUDAA), which withheld transportation funding from states that did not set a minimum drinking age of 21. The results of the study were that no lives were saved by the federal government forcing states to adopt the 21 year drinking age. The article can be read here.
